We’re very excited to award our first annual Spring “Think Critically” Scholarship to Mara Wrznewski of Collegeville, PA!

Mara is a high school senior at Perkiomen Valley HS, where she not only excels academically but is passionately involved in field hockey and lacrosse. Outside of school, Mara volunteers coaching youth sports, and works at the local bagel shop.

In Mara’s scholarship essay, she argues that language was the most important invention in the history of mankind.

She writes, “A world without language would be a world without innovation, technology, farming, production, trade, money and all other vital resources humans use today. Language allows humans to communicate and teach far beyond the limits of any other creature. It allows people to convey ideas and solve difficult problems by allowing collaboration and team work.”

After graduating, Mara plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to pursue a career in Engineering.
